Overall perfect experience. Beautiful restaurant and surroundings. Service was lovely and food looked and tasted excellent. The seating was well laid out creating space between other customers. Even the toilets were clean. Would definitely recommend 😋
We ordered some dessert (sticky date pudding, Devonshire scones and pavlova) from the menu and all items were tasty and freshly made. We also could not fault the service. Will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.
Had my wedding here last night and it could not have gone better. Food, organisation, communication and friendliness of staff was 11/10. Could not have had a better venue or group of people to deal with on such an important day.
Such a beautiful venue and nature surrounds. The food was amazing, especially the pumpkin soup. Perfect spot for a treat yourself day or solo date night ! The staff were especially lovely and so attentive - overall would highly recommend.

The food was delicious, and since it's a wedding restaurant, the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were especially friendly! I had pumpkin soup and salmon pancakes. It seems like soup and pie are a must-try in Australia.
My husband and I, had lunch at Fortnums today. Husband, a regular diet, myself both GF and Fructose Malabsorption. The selection for GF was extensive and sounded delicious. Adding the fructose issue, naturally reduced the selections available but there were still meals to choose from. My husband had the meatloaf and roast veg, he declared it the best meatloaf he has ever eaten. I had GF roast beef and roast veg, and it was supurb. We each had Devonshire Scones for Desert and again, they exceeded our expectations. The hospitality was wonderful and we felt welcomed and cared for. Every dietary requirement was met with genuine professionalism and a can do attitude. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals & visit to Fortnums and highly recommend this restaurant. We can't wait to return.
We had such an amazing time celebrating my dad's 60th birthday at the private garden room on Sunday! It was truly magical, and my dad was so surprised and happy. Huge thanks to Paige for all her help in organizing everything. The food was delicious, the venue was stunning, and the staff provided exceptional service. Everything was perfect, couldn't have asked for more. Thanks for hosting us!
First time customers today and definitely will be back again and again. Excellent service and the food was impeccable. Gluten free options are very important to me and the whole separate gluten free menu was very rewarding. Great restaurant in a great location.

Lovely setting, attentive service and beautiful food. The 2 course presentation of High Tea was a nice touch; not the usual savouries and sweet delights all on the same 3 tiers.
My husband and I stopped into Fortnums in Sassafras on a spur-of-the-moment visit after exploring the beautiful Cloudehill Gardens, and it felt like discovering a hidden gem. Every detail was considered, from the crisp linen and fresh flowers on each table to the impeccable service from every staff member. They were genuinely attentive and even surprised us with a thoughtful gesture for our anniversary, even perfectly accommodating our dietary needs. It was such a warm, elegant experience. I can’t wait to visit again with my parents and will be recommending it for my friends and future brides and grooms as they offer an intimate wedding space. Thanks to the team for such a wonderful way to spend our 2nd wedding anniversary.

Fortnums - High Tea - 11am Sitting. I went for the High Tea with my wife and two close family members. The service was impeccable from the moment I booked the reservation to the completion of the high tea. We were there for 3 hrs, there was plenty of food (too much), it was fresh and tasted lovely. The venue itself was nice (we have been to this strip many times over the years) and it was a lovely day. The only issue we had was (the restaurant was full), there was an event being held with a table of about 12 people. They were extremely loud, they had kids screaming and running around etc. We were barely able to hear our own conversations at times. This was our only issue (very minor) - it was just our tough luck. Other than that, we would highly recommend the High Tea!
We stopped for lunch in Sassafra Village on a rainy day during our Puffing Billy tour. The restaurant was packed, even on a weekday afternoon, with a mix of retired Australians and tourists. Meat pies, burgers, pumpkin soup—everything was warm and carefully prepared. The service was friendly, and we enjoyed a satisfying lunch in a refreshing atmosphere.
From service to atmosphere they are 10/10

Fortnums is a lovely restaurant located in Sassafras. It’s the last restaurant before leaving Sassafras - heading towards Olinda. It’s not too big on the inside but the old style windows allow natural sunlight to pour in making it appear more spacious. They have small chandeliers which adds a lovely touch. The staff are fantastic. Amazing service, always with a smile, very friendly and prompt and willing to do anything that will make your experience more enjoyable. Their coffee is very good and so are their desserts. I had lunch with family in which I chose from the Christmas in July menu. The roast turkey didn’t seem like a roast turkey though (as in, from the oven that I expected). Nevertheless it was still good. It was super busy when I came for lunch but the service remained of a high standard and we didn’t wait that long for our food to arrive. Although when one of our desserts arrives we waited 10 minutes or so for the remainder but the lovely staff did apologies and it didn’t bother us too much, considering they were running of their feet! Would have course come back, as always - but mainly for their good quality coffee and delicious sticky date pudding!

We had the best high tea at Fortnums Sassafras on Sunday 14 July. The service and food was excellent and the Conservatorium style restaurant is inviting. All of our food items in the high tea were delicious and all of the wait staff were extremely friendly. Can’t fault anything. We were lucky enough to be sitting near the window observing the rosellas on the bird feeder. Will definitely go again on our next trip to Melbourne.
